Replication

The Market² platform provides a distributed data architecture that ensures availability of sufficient system resources 24-hours a day. Customer throughput is never compromised. Market²'s innovative replication feature ensures that data moves easily and securely throughout the store with speed and accuracy.

Market² replication is key in providing database independence while maintaining integrity and reliability. Many commercial databases have replication models, however, they will not perform to meet the rigorous standards of near real-time updates within the POS that are required in high volume retail. Market²’s replication mechanism was built specifically to address the mission critical needs of the retailing environment and eliminate the data losses that many retailers experience today with current technology implementations.

The diagram illustrates a typical Market² configuration with the POS lanes using a local database for a primary read. All transactional data from the lanes are replicated to the master database. Any changes that occur on the master database, such as product modifications or new customer additions, are replicated to the database of each POS . This is just one of the available configurations supported by Market²’s robust replication model.
